Snowshoeing and Dog Sledding Camp

Follow in the footsteps of our great polar explorers and discover the Arctic as they did, with snowshoes and a dog sled.

  • Welcome to Tromsø Villmarkssenter, handing out the thermal suits, boots, and overalls.
  • 1,5 – 2 hours guided snowshoe hike enjoying beautiful views of the Kvaløya island and Tromsø city in the distance. The exact route will be determined due to the weather conditions and the wishes of the group.
  • Dinner served by the open fire in our cozy Gamme-hut; Bacalao – a traditional Norwegian fish dish with Portuguese roots made from regional produce, our signature dessert – dark chocolate cake, coffee and tea.
  • Dogyard visit with 200 Alaskan huskies, who are happy to greet you.
  • Free time at our center, which is furnished with several fireplaces to keep you warm and toasty. The nights are getting brighter in March, so the best chance to see the Aurora is after midnight.
  • Stay over at the Lavvu tent furnished with soft reindeer skins and high-quality camping gear. The Lavvo will be shared with other guests. Private accommodation is available upon request.
  • Fresh and hearty breakfast the next morning.
  • Exciting dogsledding self-drive adventure, or relaxed dogsledding-ride experience. Book a ride or self-drive option accordingly.
  • Lunch by the open fire in our cozy gamme-hut; Bidos – a traditional Sami reindeer dish, our “world-famous” chocolate cake, coffee, and tea.
