Dole

Dole was born in 2017 and is one of our biggest boys – definitely the owner of the biggest head in the dog yard 😄 But despite his size, he’s the softest soul. Calm, gentle, and kind in a way that just feels easy to be around.

On walks, he’s polite and relaxed, barely pulling at all. He’s even been walked by children and somehow seems to understand that they’re small, adjusting himself without being asked. Indoors, he’s a total gentleman. He loves warm spots, long naps, and curling up by the radiator like it’s where he’s always belonged.

Dole is low maintenance and happy with a calm routine, but he does enjoy getting out. He likes hikes and little trips, and would probably enjoy an occasional ski trip too. Most of the time, though, he’s perfectly happy just being close. And if you give him a ball, his eyes light up and he’ll play until he tires himself out, then fall asleep with the ball right next to him.

He’s kind to everyone – kids, adults, other dogs, probably cats too. Just a good, easy dog. Dole is retiring a bit earlier than planned after being diagnosed with epilepsy. He’s been checked by our vet and is otherwise healthy, and with medication he can live a normal, happy life as a pet.

Now he’s looking for a home where he can just be Dole – a gentle, slightly lazy giant who loves warmth, quiet company, and the occasional game of ball.
