Hi! My name is Kort. I’m one of the biggest females in the entire dog yard and many people even think I’m a boy. Maybe that’s a strange thing to be proud of, but they also say I’m not exactly the brightest dog in the team, so I work with what I’ve got. Luckily, what I’ve got is power. A lot of it. Anyway, enough talking… do you have a treat for me?
Are you an ultramarathon runner? Because I am. Well… more like ten times that. I started my racing career young and have already completed several long-distance races, including all 1200 km of Finnmarksløpet — the longest sled dog race in Europe. I take my job very seriously, but outside the races I can actually be a little shy in new situations. Deep down, I’m really just a big cuddly teddy bear. My name is Brage, by the way.
Várri here! My energy levels are hard to match. When I was one year old, I even broke a toe because of it. Good times! It had to be amputated… sad times, mostly because they put me on rest mode afterwards. I honestly thought I’d go crazy. But now I’m one of a kind in the dog yard, missing a toe but still running like a pro. I actually think it makes me more aerodynamic. Also, have you seen my spotted tongue? Pretty impressive, right?
Balto here! I don’t usually look this surprised, just so we’re clear. I’m one of the tallest dogs in the kennel — honestly, more pony than husky at this point. Every season people fall in love with me and talk about taking me home, but little do they know how much power I actually have. Good luck trying to walk me without becoming the one being walked.
Hey, I’m Arya. Yes, like the one from Game of Thrones. Some people say I’m a diva, but I think I’ve earned it. I’m one of the toughest girls in the kennel and have completed a 1200 km race surrounded almost entirely by boys. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, I’ve already had a litter of puppies, and many of them are now following my pawprints into the racing world. Safe to say I’m very proud of my children.
Hey, I’m Snow. Blue eyes, white coat… yes, I know, I’m beautiful. Around here I’m basically a supermodel. I like to stay in shape, so sometimes I refuse food just to keep everyone stressed. I also don’t really get along with other male dogs. It’s not personal, I just know I’m better than them. Some say I have a poker face and no emotions. I call it confidence.
Hi, I’m Venstre. Yes, my name means “Left” in Norwegian, but honestly, I don’t care much about directions. I prefer running in circles instead. Maximum speed, maximum space usage. They say sleddogs have to run, so I’m training to become the ultimate sleddog. I’ve even attended some races already. The rest of the time, I stay highly aware of everything happening in the dogyard. Someone has to supervise around here.
Hellloouuuuu, I’m Pumba. I looooove food. And cuddles. And then food again. Sometimes I try to steal food from my roommate, which apparently is “not okay” and usually ends badly for me. I also like to convince people to stay longer by gently nipping on their jackets. The humans keep saying I’m not the brightest mind in the kennel, but honestly, who cares? I’m big, happy, and I LOVE to pull. Preferably forever.
